      A qualification and a career at the same time? Learning and earning within an apprenticeship means you can get both – a qualification and a career.

      AWS offers a range of opportunities to suit candidates with different backgrounds, qualifications and career aspirations. That is why we believe it is the perfect place to learn new skills. Our Networking Engineers are crucial in ensuring that we continue to deliver and innovate for customers. We have big plans and want to continue to develop and retain the best talent. Amazon apprenticeship schemes are aimed at people who have a passion for learning and want to start a career now – or possibly retrain in a new direction.

      To be successful you will need to be committed to your own development and make the most of the opportunities given to you, grow your knowledge through hands on experience and earn industry relevant qualifications.

      After graduating with us, you'll be qualified to apply for a permanent role within our team. Roles are available in Sydney.

      Job Responsibilities:

      • Deploy network infrastructure across all of our network fabrics that supports the Amazon Retail Service, Kindle, Payments and multiple AWS services.
      • Scale the network across multiple global Data Centers.
      • Create and improve simple, repetitive deployment processes that increase both velocity and quality of delivery.
      • Work closely with our internal customers on designs/solutions; bringing those designs/solutions from concept to production.
      • Create and update our network standards and ensure that the network is deployed to these standards.
      • Work closely with our automation teams in defining the tools that allow us to scale at unprecedented volume.
      • Develop your own ways and means to automate away any common or repeatable tasks.

      As an Network Developer Engineer (NDE) apprenticeship, you will initially be on a 12 month fixed term contract with AWS.

      You will build your skills over a 12 month period - starting in August that will be delivered through a blend of;

      • Classroom based training hosted offsite,
      • On-the-job training ,
      • Online learning,
      • Mentoring from our Network development Engineers.

      Alongside development of your technical skills, you will also grow your abilities in crucial complementary areas like organisation, prioritisation, data analysis and problem solving techniques, teamwork and communication collaboration.

      During your 12 month training program you will be introduced to the fundamental technical skills including Network+, Linux+, Juniper JNCIA, Cumulus OS basics and an Introduction to Python and software development. Covering everything you need to become a successful AWS Network Development Engineer by attending offsite workshop modules which will support you to achieve the apprenticeship standard:
