Your role

• Function as a member of an agile team by contributing to software builds through consistent development practices (tools, common components, and documentation)
• Participate in code reviews and automated testing
• Debug basic software components and identify code defects for remediation
• Support, and monitoring of software across test, integration, and production environments
• Automate deployments in test or production environments
• Automatically scale applications based on demand projections

Job Description:

• Engineer is responsible for the Automation of Network Operations workflows to optimize and improve Network Troubleshooting time.
• The candidate will play an integral role in the delivery of network automation solutions and be responsible for the management of network automation infrastructure and systems.
• Provides architectural governance, reviewing projects to ensure alignment to architectural standards and technical strategy.
• Works with the Directors of Business and Technical Architecture to identify technical solutions and business process improvements in support of the business and IT strategic direction
• The candidate partners with the American Express Technology architecture teams in determining a practical adaptation of enterprise standards through informal feedback sessions
• Helps in the development of web services and should have a good understanding of APIs (REST and SOAP with XML or JSON) 
• The candidate will lead, influence and drive vendor direction to deliver innovative solutions that are advantageous to American Express.

About you

• Starter-level hire, generally a recent college pass out. Member of a product engineering or delivery and integration team reporting to a Senior Engineer, Engineering Director or Director of Product Delivery & Integration.
• Beginner-level ability in software development, such as coding assignments
• The candidate will have a good understanding of IaaS, PaaS concepts and infrastructure provisioning methodologies.
• Should have a good understanding of APIs (REST and SOAP with XML or JSON) 
• Demonstrates strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
