Culture at Arup Singapore

8.2
8.2 rating for Culture, based on 6 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
There are plenty of chances to mingle with colleagues both within and beyond my immediate team, and a number of after-work regular activities (e.g. sports) that one can sign up for. Even though there is technically a hierarchy of different roles, it is pretty flat in the sense that we can approach our bosses in a candid and honest manner.

The overall company culture is good. The structure of the organization is flat and that aids in the mutual sharing of ideas with both seniors and juniors.

Our team leader does not emphasise a great deal on hierarchy. He wants the learning to be a two way street and he has always said it. I think this is to encourage us to grow out of our comfort zone and also develop our soft skills (communication, conveying ideas). Most people in Arup are very approachable, people just want the juniors to learn and grow and its very motivating to see this. Your workplace is very important and Arup has a very open and collaborative environment.

Colleagues are very cooperative, capable and good natured.

The hierarchy is very flat and everyone is very comfortable with each other which is great. The downside is that it makes it difficult to report any workplace issues or injustices.
