This opportunity is for a New Zealand student and recent graduate majoring in business, communication, or marketing to gain experience in the New Zealand Food and Distribution Business to Asian markets. The intern can work virtually and/or at Eat the Kiwi's Auckland office.

About the Internship

The internship period is for 8 weeks, flexible starting between November 2021 – February 2022

The intern will be given a specific project or meaningful work relevant to their area of study, and a mentor and supervisor will be assigned to monitor the intern's professional development.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to:

  • Participate in building a supplier CRM system and template for global access
  • Define potential suppliers for the export of F&B products to Asian markets
  • Source assets that can be used for social and marketing purposes
  • Update offshore market collateral


Eligibility

Applicants must be:

  • a New Zealand citizen or have New Zealand permanent resident status have completed within the last 2 years or be due to complete at least 2 years in business, marketing or communication degree by November 2021
  • be in good health and interested in animal nutrition
  • be adaptable, independent, reliable and resilient

Knowledge of Mandarin/Cantonese, while useful, is not a prerequisite for the internship as English is widely spoken at Eat The Kiwi.

What's covered:

This is a paid internship. Other expenses such as the purchase of laptops are not covered.

Management of the programme

Asia New Zealand Foundation and Eat The Kiwi will jointly deliver pastoral care and support professional development in cultural competency.

Terms and conditions

The successful applicant will be required to agree to the standard Terms and Conditions for Asia New Zealand Foundation funding recipients.

Reporting requirements

Interns are expected to write a 600-word article (with accompanying photos) on their internship that will appear on the Foundation's website (to be submitted during the internship) and write a final three-page report evaluating the internship experience at the end of the programme.

Selection process

  • Applications close Monday 30 August 2021.
  • Shortlisted applicants will be notified by mid- September 2021.
  • Short-listed applicants will be invited to an in-person or online panel interview to select the successful candidate.

The successful candidate will be advised in October 2021.

All selected interns will be supported to attend a group induction day in Auckland in November 2021
