Raymond Lau

IAG has provided me with friendly, knowledgeable managers and colleagues who have taught me everything I know about the job and are more than happy to help whenever I have a problem.

Can you describe a day in the life of your current rotation? (What division you are in, what have you learned, what have you got involved in etc)

I am currently in the Internal Capital Modelling team within Group Actuarial. In this role, I utilised the capital model to analyse the adequacy of the company’s capital position. I also had the opportunity to gain exposure in the Insurance Liabilities team, where I analysed IAG’s liabilities and helped with quarterly valuation reporting. Both these roles have provided me a greater understanding of IAG as a business as well as a taste of what it’s like to be an Actuary.

Describe in 3 words your experience so far:

Happy Happy Days

What has been your most memorable experience on the Grad Program so far?

If you could give 1 piece of advice to a student applying for the Grad Program, what would it be?

Crack some jokes in the interview stage to lighten the mood.
