The Aon Story

When Ryan Insurance Group and Combined International Corporation amalgamated in 1982, Aon's rapid expansion had its start. Aon, a GaelMonterm that means "Oneness," was used to introduce that business to Wall Street in 1987. Aon's rise in the world insurance industry was powered by strategic acquisitions and sustained growth during the 1980s and 1990s. We have purchased some of the most well-known companies in the advisory and insurance sectors over the past 20 years, including Hudig-Langeveldt, a 1680-founded company that offers insurance cover for cargo ships.
The Financial Services Authority fined Aon £5.69 million in the UK in January 2009 for having insufficient anti-bribery and anti-corruption controls. The authority claimed that between 14 January 2005 and 30 September 2007, Aon had not adequately evaluated the risks associated with its transactions with foreign companies and people. The Authority did not discover any evidence that any funds had awful organisations. Due to its assistance with the inquiry, Aon was entitled to a 30% reduction in the penalties. Aon said that its actions were not intentional and added that since then, it had "substantially reinforced and extended its safeguards around the employment of third parties."

Culture & Vibe

The beating heart of the company is its workforce. What connects Aon, motivates it, and inspires the best in the company is its enthusiasm for its clients. Aon provides an environment of possibilities for its employees across the whole Aon organisation, driven by cooperation and ingenuity. In the end, colleagues at Aon are more valuable, linked, and relevant, enabling them to reach their full creative ability. Aon can perform its best job for the clients because of the culture it has. Aon’s clients have the transparency and trust to make better judgments to safeguard and expand their businesses thanks to the suggestions and solutions offered by its staff. And regions and individuals prosper when businesses are successful.
